Kansas City Royals vs. Baltimore Orioles — July 11, 2026

Two last-place teams. One ballpark. Somebody has to win. The Baltimore Orioles (43-51) host the Kansas City Royals (38-56) on Saturday night at Camden Yards for the second game of this three-game set between the bottom-feeders of their respective divisions. First pitch is at 7:05 PM ET with Noah Cameron (5-6, 4.77 ERA) taking the ball for Kansas City against Baltimore's Kyle Bradish (5-9, 3.75 ERA).

Pitching Matchup: Cameron vs. Bradish

Noah Cameron (LHP, 5-6, 4.77 ERA, 82 K, 88.2 IP)
Noah Cameron has had an up-and-down rookie campaign for the Royals. The 25-year-old lefty flashes swing-and-miss stuff — 8.3 K/9 — but opposing hitters are tagging him for a .273 batting average and he's surrendering a 4.77 ERA. His 1.45 WHIP is concerning, driven largely by 30 walks in 88.2 innings (3.0 BB/9).

Cameron has only faced six current Orioles hitters, allowing one hit and walking two — a very small sample. The left-handedness could work to his advantage against a Baltimore lineup that leans right-handed, but Camden Yards historically hasn't been kind to pitchers who can't keep the ball in the yard.

Kyle Bradish (RHP, 5-9, 3.75 ERA, 101 K, 100.2 IP)
Kyle Bradish has been the definition of a hard-luck pitcher this season. His 3.75 ERA and 101 strikeouts in 100.2 innings are solid numbers, especially for a team that's 8 games under .500. The WHIP (1.40) is higher than you'd like, driven by a 4.3 BB/9 walk rate that has haunted him all year.

Bradish has seen plenty of the Royals — 28 career plate appearances against current KC hitters. The problem? They're hitting .333 off him with an .895 OPS. Bobby Witt Jr. in particular has given Bradish trouble, and Vinnie Pasquantino (recently activated from the IL) has historically hit him well. The saving grace for Bradish: he's allowed a low 85.4 mph average exit velocity against the Royals, suggesting the batting average has been BABIP-fueled and not truly reflective of his stuff.

Team Trends

Kansas City Royals: The Royals are having a rough year at 38-56, dead last in the AL Central. The offense isn't terrible — .248 average, 402 runs scored, 93 homers — but the pitching staff has a 4.86 ERA that ranks 28th in MLB. To make matters worse, they've lost four of their last five, including Friday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles.

Baltimore Orioles: The Orioles are 43-51 and sitting in the AL East basement, which is not where anyone expected them to be after last season's promising finish. The bats have been quiet (.239 average) and the pitching has been mediocre (4.40 ERA). That said, Samuel Basallo is emerging as a legitimate star — his 8th-inning homer on Friday lifted the O's to a 5-3 win, and the young catcher now has 18 homers on the year.

Betting Odds & Prediction

Moneyline: Royals +145, Orioles -155
Run Line: Royals +1.5 (-160), Orioles -1.5 (+145)
Over/Under: 8.5 runs
First pitch: 7:05 PM ET | Camden Yards | MASN

The Pick: Baltimore Orioles ML (-155)

This is a matchup between two bad teams, but Bradish is the better pitcher and the Orioles are at home after winning the series opener. Cameron's high walk rate and elevated ERA make him a risky play against any MLB lineup, and the O's have enough pop to make him pay.

Bradish has been unlucky all year but the underlying numbers are better than his record. If he can keep the walks under control and limit the damage from Witt Jr., Baltimore should handle business.

Score Prediction: Orioles 6, Royals 4

Basallo stays hot with another home run. Bradish battles through 6 innings with 8 strikeouts and 3 earned runs allowed. Cameron struggles with command early and gets lifted in the 5th. The Orioles' bullpen holds off a late Royals rally to secure the series win.
